Document Manager Overview

Overview

The document manager feature purpose is to help clients to manage their files/documents in the system. These include images, documents (docs, PDFs, PowerPoint, etc.), and videos. It is a replacement for the current reference library as well as a replacement for the current file uploader located throughout the application.

Advantages/Improvements to the Document Manager

  1. Permissions management: You can now assign access permissions such as "View Only", "Can make changes", or "No Access" to particular roles or student groups.
  2. Document versions: Always have access to the latest document but also to all previous versions as well.
  3. File access documents anyplace in the system: When you upload a document in the system, you can always access it using Ascent document manager and insert them into modules, etc.
  4. Favorites: Add a document or a folder to your favorites and access it anyplace in the system.
  5. Restore deleted documents: Your documents are never gone; you can always revert deleted documents back to its original state.
  6. View document details: See who is the creator of a document as well as when it was modified.
  7. Search and sort: Find your document using the search function or sort current list of documents based on date modified or filename.
  8. Keywords and filetype: This method facilitates the search for a specific document in a more efficient and streamlined manner.
  9. Modify files: Edit, rename, move, or delete files right in the Ascent Document Manager.
  10. Access on your mobile device: Browse your files on your phone or tablet (on-line) .
  11. Security: All files are fully encrypted during transport and storage.
